Great fest! Loved having my film play here.

Started in 2001 the MVFF has grown into a wonderful event with screenings of thought provoking documentaries and indie films. Kudos to Thomas Bena for his vision and work in creating a film festival of such high quality in such a casual atmosphere.
I viewed Chomsky's Socio-Economic/Historical survey, Requiem..., and found that the bewilderment of the herd that I was sitting with almost too much to bear. I found the whole event ironically uncouth. Here we have a film outlining the problems with the distribution of wealth among the class systems in American Culture (civilization) at an event with class based seating arrangements...hysterical. In fact, you could tell that Chomsky got so annoyed with the egomaniacal line of questioning during the open Q&A portion of the event that in some cases he wouldn't answer the question. Then the people who were called on to ask questions wanted so much to impress Chomsky that they babbled on asking complex, compound questions layerd on top three or four other compound questions and by the time they were done asking their question, Chomsky was polite enough to say, I don't hear so well these days, instead of WTF is wrong with you? A real classy dude. I'm glad he wasn't trampled after the event.
